6. What is Your Safety Record and How Do You Address the Extreme Arizona Heat on Site?

• We maintain a dedicated, aggressive safety program, evidenced by a zero incident history and an excellent Experience Modification Rate (EMR), which we can provide on request.

• Our strategy for working in the Arizona heat is a structured, written plan:

• Heat Safety Plan: We implement a mandatory Hydration and Rest Protocol on all West Valley sites from May through September. This includes mandatory, shaded 15-minute breaks every two hours and ensuring crews are supplied with ice water and electrolyte drinks at all times.

• Work Shift Adjustment: For high-heat tasks, we adjust the workday to start earlier (e.g., 5:00 AM) to utilize the cooler morning hours and reduce strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.

• Training & Equipment: All our personnel are trained to recognize the signs of heat-related illness in themselves and their coworkers (Buddy System), ensuring a safe and productive environment regardless of the temperature.

 

7. How do you ensure NFPA 70E compliance and manage arc flash risk for both our personnel and a live, working facility?

• All energized work is justified, planned, and authorized according to NFPA 70E Article 110. 

• We work closely with your operations and safety teams to plan lockout/tagout procedures, minimize downtime, and maintain production continuity—without compromising safety.

• We supply and maintain PPE rated for the calculated incident energy levels. Tools and meters are insulated and maintained per ASTM and NFPA 70E requirements.

• Our electricians are NFPA 70E-trained and certified in safe electrical work practices. We conduct regular refresher courses and toolbox talks to keep everyone up to date with code changes and best practices.​
